River Homem Bridge and access roads
The Pesqueira Bridge, an infra-structure of the Homem-Lima intermunicipal road, carried out by the consortium SÁ MACHADO & FILHOS, S.A./ALBERTO COUTO ALVES S.A. was officially opened on the 23rd September.
At the protocol ceremony, attended by a mixed party of the Vila Verde and Terras de Bouro Municipalities, the development that this brand new route will bring forward, fighting growing desertification in this area was given great emphasis.
The construction of this bridge, stretching for 130 meters over the cliffs of the Homem river valley, included foundations on both banks, pillars and deck in pre-stressed concrete.
The final result emerges as structure of graceful slenderness, in a location that used to be accessed only with great difficulty.
The conclusion of this bridge confirms SÁ MACHADO & FILHOS, S.A. as a global company in the construction area. |
